Hello!
MY NAME IS NANCY
I am a third generation Californian, and the beauty of California inspires my art and brings me joy. The colors I work with are reminiscent of the brilliant colors of my So. Cal. days in the sun and surf. I work primarily in watercolors and watercolor collage. I enjoy acrylic and oils as well when the subject calls for it. I have created and participated in mural art projects around Orange County, including the Santa Ana Zoo and the Red Cross building in Long Beach.
I am passionate about making the art experience a positive one for people of all ages. I was the founding Visual Arts Director for Orange County School of the Arts as well of Dean of Arts at OCSA for 18 years. During that time I was awarded a Who’s Who Teacher Award in 2001 and 2003, as well as the Disney Creative Challenge Award fours years running. After moving further south in Orange County, I continued teaching art at the secondary level for a good deal of my career. Currently I am the Visual Arts Community Outreach Director for Santa Margarita High School which I enjoy. Other areas of the art world I have been involved in have been book illustration, Bowers Museum docent, and currently I am the Rotating Art Gallery curator for the new City of Hope Facility in Irvine.
